Grainne and Aine had a great day on Wed at the NUIGalway Green Week-meeting up with Seed Savers (from Co. Clare) and people from Galway Civic Trust and others. Lots of interested people signed up to be kept up-to-date through our e-newsletter.
We’ll be in NUI Galway at the Green Week fair tomorrow at Aras Na MacLeinn. Pop in to our stall and see what we’re all about!
We are invited to speak to the Geography Society of Trinity College, tomorrow (Tues 2nd) Speakers: Rosaleen Hogan, Mary Connaughton and Colm O’Driscoll.
We have just had our AGM, and it was decided that we would like to put out a ‘Team’ to walk the Women’s Mini Marathon in Dublin(6miles). We’d like 100 women to run/walk for the Trust, its on in early June. Let us know if you’re interested in joining us.
Environmental Studies Workbooks – [8 Modules] -adult education literacy initiative, are now free to download from our website
We have been updating the Earth Literacy Workbooks which we created for
and launched at the RAPAL (Research and Practice in Adult Literacy)
Conference, June 2008. The new format makes the books more accessible.
They are for use with adult learners across various disciplines: Family
History, Communications, Food/ Cookery, Environment Matters, IT, Nature
Study, H-Our Story, Numeracy Workbook, Art, Woodwork and Personal
Effectiveness.
Of interest to anyone teaching Adult Literacy.
Big Congratulations to Tom Conroy, Co. Tipperary, for running in the Dublin City Marathon on Monday the 26th of Oct. on behalf of Green Sod Land Trust. Wile raising much needed funds for the Trust he also achieved his personal best by finishing the  Marathon in 3hours44mins. What a wonderful achievement. We extend our Congratulations and gratitude to Tom.
